Our Services

Our GPs have vast experience in acute and chronic care. We deal with the vast majority or conditions without referral, but where additional testing or referral is needed, we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Contraception & Family Planning

We offer a comprehensive Family Planning service and provide advice on all options to women and men. Drs Conlon and Collier are certified to insert and remove Implanon (“contraceptive bar”) devices.

Dr Conlon is additionally certified to provide Mirena coil insertion. Kyleena, Jaydess and Copper coils can also be facilitated. We can also arrange referrals for men seeking vasectomy. The HSE provide an overview of your options at https://www.sexualwellbeing.ie/sexual-health/contraception/

For emergency (after-sex / morning after) contraception, contact reception on 01 4734030 and ask for an emergency appointment. Please note the emergency contraception is also available through pharmacies, without prescription. 

Maternity (antenatal / postnatal) care
  • We are please to be part of the HSE Antenatal Care Scheme, providing visits through pregnancy for mum, and for mum and baby following delivery. Once a woman has signed up to the scheme, visits under the scheme are not charged.
  • We encourage uptake of Whooping Cough (Pertussis), Covid and Flu vaccination amongst pregnant women, all of which are available in the surgery free of charge.
Chronic Disease Management

Under the HSE Chronic Disease Management programme, we offer 6 monthly nurse and doctor visits for patients with medical cards/doctor visit cards with certain conditions, including:

  • Patients with a history of angina, heart attack, heart failure, stroke or mini-stroke
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Asthma
  • COPD/Emphysema

Where indicated, we offer regular blood tests, health and blood pressure checks as well as lifestyle advice where needed, to support your management of your condition.

Menopause Care

We are delighted to meet women wishing to explore their options to relieve menopausal symptoms. Given the breadth of material to cover due symptoms, we would ask that a dedicated appointment be made to solely discuss this issue

24 hour blood pressure monitoring

When recommended by the doctor, a blood pressure monitor is worn for 24 hours.

Cervical Screening

Cervical screening for women aged 25-60 through CervicalCheck is available free of charge with our practice nurse. Out-of-programme screening is also available at the surgery, though caries at additional cost.

Sexual Health

Comprehensive STI testing is available, including screening for Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis. Results are available within days are treated with the utmost confidence.

Cryotherapy

In many cases, cryotherapy (freezing therapy) can be a remedy for certain skin conditions including warts. Please note that this treatment may be not appropriate for some children of for skin complaints involving the facial area.

Other Health Services

As a member of the South Inner City Partnership of GPs and the Incicore-Blubell primary care team, this practice has access to social worker, occupational therapy, dietician, physiotherapy, wound clinic, continence promotion and smoking cessation services.

Childhood Vaccinations

In line with the HSE Childhood Immunisation Programme, we offer childhood vaccinations with our practice nurse at 2, 4, 6, 12 and 13 months. If your child was born outside the State and you are unsure that they have received all relevant vaccines, simply send us a copy of the vaccine record and we can advise whether a catch-up schedule is needed. Adult Vaccinations

As well as seasonal Flu and Covid vaccinations, we provide a wide range of other vaccinations to adults. Please contact reception to see if we can accommodate your specific needs.

Joint Injections

Our GPs are qualified to provide steroid injections for conditions such as Frozen shoulder, Rotator Cuff Syndrome, tendonitis, bursitis as well as knee and shoulder arthritis.

Mental Health

All our GPs have experience helping people managing issues with their Mental Health. Whether it is anxiety, low mood or something else on your mind, be assured that help is available.

Ear Syringing

Excess wax is a common cause of reduced hearing or even ear pain. Using a Propulse Ear Irrigation machine, we can help clear troublesome wax. This procedure can be carried out once softener drops have been used for 7-10 days (eg olive oil, or Cerumol or Waxol drops bought from your local pharmacy)

Cardiovascular Care

We offer a range of Cardiac related tests including cholesterol and diabetes testing, ECG and 24 hour blood pressure monitor tests where indicated.

Nursing Services

Our practice nurses provided a wide range of services including blood testing, wound dressings, contraception reviews and injections including B12 and Prolia.

Legal & Insurance Reports

We are happy to provide reports to all major Insurers on request, as well as providing consultations dealing with legal issues such as Enduring Power of Attorney and Wills.
